A playbook from Walton County, Georgia

The Walton Model

Most county clubs show up for elections and disappear. We built one that never stops. Now we're handing it to every county in Georgia.

Why We Built It

Georgia changed on November 3. For the first time in twenty years, Republicans are the opposition at the top of state government.

Most county Young Republican clubs run on a Facebook page and an election-year burst of energy. Then they go quiet.

The fastest-growing counties in Georgia are the least organized. Nobody is talking to the young families moving in.

We decided to fix that. We started at home.

How It Works

Four parts. Every one runs every month, election year or not.

  1. 1. Message.

    Three pillars. One voice.

Your Money. Your County. Your Family. Every post, video, and op-ed ties back to what people pay, where they live, and how they raise their kids.

  2. 2. Rhythm.

    Something every week.

A video every Wednesday. A post every Monday. A Show Up Night every month with training, a social hour, and a service project. People stay because there's always a next thing.

  3. 3. Accountability.

    We keep the receipts.

The Promise Tracker scores every state promise in local dollars. Updated monthly. Sourced. No spin.

  4. 4. Pipeline.

From first visit to first campaign.

Precinct captains. A candidate academy. Recruiting on campuses and at trade schools. The goal is simple: no uncontested seat.

  • The Support.

An onboarding call to launch. A monthly check-in after that.

The Standard

The Walton Model comes with a code of conduct. Every club that adopts the model adopts the code.

We argue about records and policy. We don't attack people. We welcome newcomers, independents, and anyone who voted differently last time.

If your club can't sign that, this isn't for you. If it can, let's go.
